The grade says where you stand
The headline number is now a standing among everyone measured rather than a raw average, the comparison group stops moving when you filter, and the pages that read the corpus got a great deal faster.
Added
- Presence and site time share one card and one map picker, the same picker the rest of the lab uses.
- The roster states which side each group played, read from the replay rather than inferred from where people started.
- Confirming the email address on your account raises your upload allowance to ten replays a day.
Changed
- The headline number is a standing: how many of the players measured you are ahead of, from 0 to 100. It used to be the mean of five category means, and a mean of percentiles collapses toward the middle. Over 230 player-samples the raw number ran 11 to 74, so A at 75 and S at 90 were not hard, they were unreachable: zero players of 230 could reach them, and the best player measured, ahead of 92% of everyone, was handed a B.
- Uploads are read two at a time, so a batch finishes in about half the time it used to.
- The match page reads one small population instead of the whole corpus, the stacks rail reads the trace instead of every match’s stats, the people list stopped parsing a file per name, and agent portraits arrive at the size they are drawn.
Fixed
- Who you are compared against no longer moves when you ask a narrower question. Picking one map used to rebuild the comparison group out of whoever happened to be in those lobbies, so the grade moved while the play under it did not. A filter now says what to measure about somebody, never who they are measured against.
- A filter that left very few players behind used to drop every metric back onto hand-tuned bands without saying so. Those are the bands the standing exists to replace.
- The aggregate everyone is ranked against is judged on the matches it looked at rather than the ones it kept. It was declaring itself stale the instant it was written, and rebuilding on every single request while being used on none.
- The round panel no longer widens the page on a phone.
Known limits
- An account that has not confirmed its email address uploads one replay a day. Everything else on the site works the same either way.
- A standing needs a corpus to stand in. Where too few players have been measured to rank anybody honestly, the raw number is shown rather than a rank invented from a handful of samples.
