Every agent counts its own kit

Twenty more agents gained a kit table, so all twenty-nine now report their own abilities, and the upload estimate is priced from the file rather than guessed from its first three seconds.

Patch notes

Added

  • Kit tables for Phoenix, Jett, Reyna, Neon, Skye, Breach, Brimstone, Viper, Astra, KAY/O, Yoru, Killjoy, Chamber, Deadlock, Fade, Iso, Vyse, Veto, Waylay and Tejo. With the nine that already had one, every agent now reports its own abilities in its own columns.
  • An ability that opens a window on somebody counts the window and the kills taken inside it. Concusses, nearsights, deafens, slows and stuns all report the same way.
  • A device names each of its own counts. KAY/O’s overload used to report one unnamed number for two different facts, and it now states its downs and its revives separately.
  • Sage’s orb splits its healing between herself and the teammate she threw it at, from the ticks the replay sends. An enemy Sage’s healing was never hers and still is not.
  • Skye’s dog counts the people its pounce concussed, and the kills her side took inside those windows.
  • Brimstone’s stim beacon counts whoever stood in it, himself included.
  • Tejo’s drone states the moment it fired, and a drone that fires is spent.
  • Breach’s Fault Line is drawn at the length he charged it to, rather than at one length for every cast.
  • Harbor’s Reckoning is drawn as the wall it is, its reach measured from the people it actually caught.
  • Omen’s Paranoia is drawn as the corridor it swept rather than a dot at the end of its flight. The blind is the whole line, and the line is measured from the missile’s own path across 41 casts on five maps: 23.3 m long, 4.3 m wide, with the furthest of 35 victims sitting 407 units off it.
  • Sova’s Recon Bolt carries every sweep it made. The bolt sticks and scans twice, roughly 0.7 and 2.3 seconds after it lands, and the map drew neither. Four bolts in one match swept once, which is a bolt shot out between sweeps, so the list is what happened rather than a constant two.
  • Viper’s screen sits with the smokes instead of on its own.
  • Gekko’s spent globules stay on the map, faded, so what is left to reclaim is visible rather than remembered.
  • This section. Patch notes, the occasional written piece, and a feed at /news/feed.xml.

Changed

  • An upload’s time estimate is priced from the size of the replay before any of it is read, at about six seconds a megabyte measured across eleven finished jobs. It used to extrapolate from the first three seconds of a six minute job, which is the one moment such a guess is worthless, so it opened at three minutes and climbed.
  • The time left is rounded the way the worker’s own log rounds it, in five second steps under a minute and ten above. Printing the exact second meant the digits moved on every poll whether or not the estimate had.
  • A kills column in a kit is that agent’s own kills, not their team’s. Assists granted to teammates are counted, and named as assists.
  • A thrown thing keeps the position it settled at, so a projectile that has come to rest stops sliding.

Fixed

  • A round is won by the side that ran out last, not the side left standing at the end. One round in the corpus had blue wipe red at 86.5 seconds and blue’s last player kill themselves at 92.6, which scored 0-0 and drew no dot on the rail.
  • A damage class that one agent declares and another one fires now names the agent who fired it. Riot built Veto’s Chokehold out of Fade’s Seize and it shares her damage, so his report had grown a Seize row for an ability he does not have.
  • A Boom Bot only blows up where the replay says it did.
  • KAY/O’s blade goes off when its own pulse says it did, rather than on a timer, and the knife leaves the map with it.
  • GravNet and Storm Surge go off where they land. Both were drawn as ground held for a duration, and neither holds any.
  • All four of Gekko’s globules reach the map, rather than two of them.
  • Phoenix’s molly goes out when it stops burning.
  • Phoenix’s two curveballs are labelled Left and Right. Both throws ride one internal name, so the left one had been reading as Synced, which names nothing a player would recognise.
  • Mosh Pit turns while it burns and flashes at the moment it goes off.
  • Tejo’s Guided Salvo goes off once per detonation. Each rocket lands three times, 0.81 seconds apart, and all but the first were being folded away, so a barrage that hit three times drew one circle.
  • A window’s kills reach the column that asked for them. Rows that kill by opening a window rather than by dealing damage were showing a zero with the real count sitting beside it.
  • Pages that quoted the old nearsight limit have been corrected. It was closed on 8 August and three pages still stated it.
  • A page that reads across every match takes the stats that already exist instead of rebuilding each match inside the request, and the home skeleton no longer stands in for every other page while it loads.

Known limits

  • Gekko’s Wingman draws dashes for plants and defuses. It does both, by Riot’s own text, and neither is read yet.
  • Tejo’s drone states no radius for its suppression, because the shot is single target. It gets a moment on the timeline and no footprint on the map.
  • Skye’s Trailblazer draws no ground circle. The dog is driven, so a circle would claim a whole route as dangerous when only the one instant of the pounce was.
  • A Recon Bolt sweep has no reach drawn with it. It reveals on line of sight, so the people it caught bound it from below and nothing in the replay bounds it from above.
